Fishing Report
Between fighting the windy days and some cold mornings there has actually been a pretty good bite around. There have been reports of big redfish in Estero Bay. I've been able to find large numbers of smaller reds which provide a lot of action throughout the day. They have been stacked up around oyster bars. I have also seen an unusual amount of fat snook for this time of year that have been hitting almost anything that I've thrown at them.
Most of my action the past few weeks has come from Pine Island. I have been able to find the schools of big reds early in the morning. They are mixed in with the schools of mullett and are more than willing to take a number of soft plastics.
Even though the season is closed there are a ton of catch and release trout to be caught around the pot holes that litter the flats in Pine Island.
